Meet the Coach
Matt Mones
Head Girls Varsity Soccer Coach / Assistant Director of Athletics
Matt Mones brings a distinguished collegiate coaching career to Tabor, having most recently served as Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for Women’s Soccer at Brown University. During his decade at Brown, the program won four consecutive Ivy League championships, claimed their first NCAA tournament victory in nearly 30 years, developed All-Americans and Ivy League Players of the Year, and was twice recognized as the United Soccer Coaches East Region Staff of the Year.
Prior to Brown, Matt served as an assistant coach at Yale University — where the program posted its highest-rated recruiting class in school history — and at the University of Hartford, where the staff earned America East Coaching Staff of the Year honors and the team won the conference’s regular season title. Alongside his collegiate career, Matt has coached with Yankee United Futbol Club for eight years, including a US Youth Soccer Connecticut State Cup championship.
As a collegiate player himself, Matt competed at both Marist College and Boston College. He joins Tabor this summer with his wife and three children, bringing not only elite soccer knowledge but a deep commitment to student-athlete development and academic excellence.
Train Where Champions Train
Set on Tabor Academy’s waterfront campus in Marion, Massachusetts, the program gives players the opportunity to train and compete on our three premier turf fields along Buzzards Bay.
