Location: Utah’s "Mighty 5” National Parks: Arches, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, and Zion
Dates: June 5-11, 2025

Description: Students will embark on a road trip exploring Utah’s “Mighty 5” National Parks, State Parks and geologic landscapes. Students will engage in daily hiking, sightseeing, trip planning, wilderness training, leadership development and reflection while on the trip. Students will see some of the most unique landscapes that the American Southwest has to offer. Learn about protected lands, marvel at earth’s creations and learn the history of the land and engage with people who call Utah home with Tabor in Utah. Students will be challenged to step outside of their comfort zone, form connections and engage with their peers on this unique National Parks trip.

- DAY 1: June 5
- Fly Boston to Salt Lake City
- Travel to Moab, UT
- Late afternoon visit to Arches National Park
- Hike to Delicate Arch
- Dinner as a group
- Overnight in Moab, UT
- DAY 2: June 6
- Sunrise in Arches National Park
- Explore Park Avenue and stops
- Hiking in the park
- Visit Canyonlands National Park
- Hiking in the Island in the Sky District
- Check-out overlooks
- Dinner as a group
- Sunset at Deadhorse Point State Park
- Overnight in Moab, UT
- DAY 3: June 7
- Visit Newspaper Rock Petroglyphs
- Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park
- Goosenecks State Park
- Hiking in Bears Ears

- Overnight near Capital Reef National Park
- DAY 4: June 8
- Hiking in Goblin Valley State Park

- Cowboy cookout under the stars

- Exploring and hiking in Zion National Park
- East Zion and Mt. Carmel Tunnel
- Hike Options: Emerald Pools, Kayenta Trao, Overlook trail, Riverwalk to Narrows Travel to Moab, UT

- DAY 7: June 11
- Visit Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park
- Depart for Salt Lake City
- Hiking at Cedar Breaks National Monument at over 10,000 feet in elevation
- Overnight flight home from Salt Lake City to Boston (arrive the morning of June 12th)
Requirements: Students must have passed the Tabor swim test in order to participate in water-based activities. This program requires sustained physical activity (walking) for 6-8 hours per day for each day of the program. Students must be in good academic and community life standing to participate. Students will be covered by school trip and travelers’ insurance that covers emergency care and evacuation, although they must also have personal health insurance.
