Tabor in Denmark

Tabor in Denmark

Location: Copenhagen, Denmark and surrounding towns; Rysensteen Gymnasium

Dates: March 7-14, 2025

Program Leader: Kevin Arnfield

Description: 16 Tabor students will travel to Copenhagen where they will stay with a host student from Rysensteen Gymnasium and their family. Tabor students will have a full weekend with their Danish hosts prior to a week of experiencing school life at Rysensteen in the mornings till noon, followed by targeted cultural excursions and learning experiences throughout Copenhagen and beyond, led by a team of Tabor faculty members. Tabor students return to their Danish host families daily around 6 PM.  Learning about cultural similarities and differences between the U.S. and Denmark, making new friends, and learning experientially together are primary goals of this exciting global education program. Framing consideration for this program include: sustainability (city, industry, energy, and water), culture (art & design, history, food, maritime history), and government & social welfare (education, health, equality, climate). Special attention will be paid to Copenhagen’s maritime past and ocean-facing industries, such as global shipping and offshore wind.
