Tabor Academy invites all incoming students to join us for this optional summer sail training adventure aboard the 92-foot schooner TABOR BOY. This is an opportunity for new students to make friends before starting school and experience a unique piece of Tabor’s culture and history. Each week, fourteen to fifteen incoming students join faculty and our student crew for five days of sailing, exploring, and learning along the coast of Massachusetts.
The Orientation at Sea program provides a general introduction to oceanography, marine biology, and related environmental issues in a fun environment. Use of the TABOR BOY as a floating classroom brings students together to share a common outdoor experience and to learn about these subjects with “hands on” observing, sampling, and experimenting. The cost for each voyage is $700.00. If you must cancel after payment is made and we are able to fill the slot, the fee will be applied to your tuition. Limited financial assistance is available upon request if needed. Please understand we cannot reserve your spot until you pay the 10% enrollment deposit.
Although the Orientation at Sea program is not required, we encourage each new student to join us for this exciting introduction to Tabor Academy. Once you have completed your enrollment agreement and paid your 10% enrollment deposit, please use the registration form to reserve your space and communicate your choice of cruise dates. We hope to see you this summer, and welcome aboard!
