Welcome to Tabor Academy's Marine Science Camp

The goal of the Tabor Academy Marine Science Summer Camp experience is to immerse yourself into the ocean environment for the purpose of exploration, education, and the development of global responsibility. For students entering 7th through 10th grades.

One Session: August 7-12, 2017 (Day and Boarding Option)

Arrival is between 9:00 and 10:00 am for boarders on Monday, August 7, and at 10:30 am for day campers. Dismissal for all campers is at 3 pm on Saturday, August 12

Program Features

    • Use of Tabor Academy’s state-of-the-art Marine Science Center.
    • Instruction from passionate and experienced marine science instructors
    • Use of the fleet of boats available for marine science research
    • Access to dynamic ocean habitats including a whale watch on Stellwagen Bank and a field excursion to a rocky habitat on Cape Cod
    • Accommodations in a comfortable dormitory setting
    • All meals, with a variety of menus for varying diets 

          Campers also enjoy:

          • Developing your own research project using the scientific method and our instructors for guidance
          • Observing the inhabitants of a multitude of habitats with snorkel, mask, and fins
          • Catching and identifying local marine life by harmless capture methods
          • Practicing chemical and physical sampling techniques to learn about the health of our ocean
          • Voyaging to Stellwagen Bank to witness the behavior of the large whale community
          • Navigating local marshes, rivers, and islands paddling in a kayak

          Tuition

          Residential Camp: $1500 and includes all instruction, meals, accommodations, and evening activities. ($500 non-refundable is required when you submit your registration, and balance is due in full May 1)

          Day Camp Option: $600 includes programming from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and daily lunch. (First day (8/7) arrival time is 10:30 am, departure day (8/12) camp ends at 3:00 pm.
