Campus Life
International Program

Programs Throughout the Year

A distinct result of Tabor's international program is the widespread involvement of our international students in both appointed and elected leadership positions across campus. International students serve as dormitory proctors, head tour guides, co-editors of the yearbook, class officers, peer listeners, library proctors, and Global Partners for International Orientation, as well as co-heads of our International Student Program.

In a school environment that aims to promote inclusiveness and tolerance, International Students are visible symbols and global representatives who bridge cultural, racial, and political distances to create a community of respect and friendship.

Student Directed Programs

International students serve as Co-Heads for all-school programs each month that help the community to broaden its understanding of the bigger world and to promote a sense of global awareness and service that rank high on the list of 21st century skills.

  • International Orientation: three days of activities and friendship for new international students organized by 60 returning student Global Partners
  • Trading Places: a program to introduce world cultures to our freshman LEAP classes, sections taught by international student volunteers
  • Asian Dinner: a winter highlight, this meal is prepared by our student chefs from across Asia and offers a taste of world cuisines to our entire community
  • International Week: sharing food, music, performances, games, and chapel speeches with the community for enjoyment and learning
  • Global Outreach: Global engagement at Tabor includes service, as well as exchange and study. We have sent global service groups of students and faculty overseas since 2014. Tabor also sponsors two scholarship program: the Shattuck Travel Grant to assist students with summer language or cultural study, and the Idemitsu Scholarship to support study in CIEE’s Japanese language and culture immersion program in Tokyo.
