Tabor Welcomes New Varsity Girls Lax Coach

Tabor Academy is proud to announce the appointment of Ben Rubeor as Head Coach of Girls Varsity Lacrosse. A highly respected leader in the sport, Rubeor brings a remarkable blend of professional, collegiate, and independent school coaching experience—along with an accomplished playing career—that will elevate the Seawolf lacrosse program.

Rubeor recently coached with the Laxachusetts program. Prior to that, he served as Head Coach and General Manager of the Atlas Lacrosse Club in the Premier Lacrosse League, where he turned a last-place roster into a contender and was a 2021 PLL Coach of the Year finalist. He has also held coaching roles with the Boston Cannons, Thayer Academy, Loyola Blakefield (MD), and St. Mary’s High School (MD), where he led the team to a championship and earned USA Today Coach of the Year honors.

As a player, Rubeor, was a two-time Tewaarton Award finalist at the University of Virginia, helping the Cavaliers capture the 2006 NCAA Championship. He later went on to win three Major League Lacrosse titles with the Chesapeake Bayhawks.

“We are thrilled to welcome Ben to Tabor,” says Athletic Director Kelly Walker. “He is an outstanding coach and mentor, and he embodies the values we want our student-athletes to hold care, collaboration, courage, and curiosity.”

“I’m honored to take over the girls varsity lacrosse program,” says Rubeor. “This is a wonderful opportunity to join the Tabor community, and I’m committed to building a culture where players grow on and off the field. I look forward to giving these young women everything I have and helping them reach their full potential as athletes and as people.”

With Rubeor at the helm, girls’ varsity lacrosse is ready for its next chapter of growth and success. To learn more about the program, visit our website or contact the admissions office to arrange for a visit.
