Tabor Academy Appoints Ryan Frost as Director of Athletics
Tabor Academy is pleased to announce the appointment of Ryan Frost as the new Director of Athletics, effective July 1, 2026.
Frost brings more than 25 years of experience in independent school athletics, including 19 years as Director of Athletics at Cardigan Mountain School. Under his leadership, Cardigan became the first school in New England—and one of only a small number of schools nationally—to earn the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) Quality Program Award at the Exemplary level.
A respected leader across the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC), Frost most recently served as President of the organization, following terms as Vice President and Secretary. He is widely recognized for his leadership within the league.
“We are excited to welcome Ryan to Tabor,” says Tony Jaccaci, Head of School. “He has dedicated his career to building athletic experiences that help young people grow and develop into confident, dedicated, and driven young people. He understands the power of sport to transform and has deep experience in the residential setting. As the former President of NEPSAC, he has a very wide view of the many challenges and opportunities in independent school sports and is the right leader for this moment of transition in the world of athletics—regardless of the level.”
Frost holds master’s degrees in athletic administration and education from Springfield College, as well as a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Franklin & Marshall College.
He notes that he was drawn to Tabor’s strong athletic tradition, distinctive maritime identity, and commitment to a comprehensive student experience. “Tabor’s identity as the School by the Sea, its emphasis on character, perseverance, and collaboration, and its investment in a comprehensive educational experience strongly align with my professional values and vision,” he says.
Founded in 1876, Tabor Academy is a premier coeducational boarding school serving more than 500 students from across the country and around the world. As the School by the Sea, Tabor offers an exceptional setting for students in grades 9–12 to explore their interests, develop their strengths, and grow as scholars, athletes, artists, and leaders.
Tabor extends its gratitude to the members of the search committee—Lydia Caputi, Rob Maier, Meghan Parks, Whitney Dolan, Gerry Dineen, and Nate Meleo—for their thoughtful leadership and stewardship of the process. In addition, sincere thanks to Bethany Daniels for her coordination and support throughout the search.
The school also thanks Kelly Walker for her four years of dedicated service as Director of Co-Curricular and Athletic Programs. Her commitment to student-athletes and to the values of Tabor has made a lasting impact on the program and the community.
