Looking Back at Tabor Summer

Looking Back at Tabor Summer

Fall has officially arrived in Marion. School is back in session, leaves have started to turn, and Tabor T-shirts have been traded for crewnecks. In honor of the first day of Autumn falling on a Throwback Thursday, let’s recap summer at the School by the Sea!

There was a myriad of summer camps on campus this year, including Tabor Summer, Marine Science Camp, and Hockey Camp. Campers at Tabor Summer engaged in outdoor activities on the field, went fishing for critters in the marsh, learned about chemical reactions in a “Mad Sciences” demonstration, performed shows in the Black Box theater, and so much more. At Marine Science Camp, students learned through hands-on exploration and field trips. They even got to see whales breaching on a whale watch. The coed Hockey Camp helped campers strengthen their skills on the ice and make new friendships along the way. You can find more information on the summer programs offered at Tabor here.

The Tabor Boy Summer Experience was offered to new students for the first time since 2019. Students prepped downhaul lines, set the sails, took the helm, enjoyed spending time in the “splash zone,” and more! They During the last week, Head of School Tony Jaccaci joined the crew and helped sail Tabor Boy out to Hadley Harbor in Buzzards Bay. Learn more about what the Tabor Boy Summer Experience entails here.

This past summer, time was also spent strengthening and creating new connections. New Family Gatherings were held in Osterville, Duxbury, and right here at Tabor. At these events, new students and their families were invited to get to know other new Tabor families and start off the school year with a few familiar faces. In July, the extended Tabor community travelled to New York Yacht Club Harbor Court in Newport. At this Tabor Together function, alumni, parents, and friends commingled oceanside. Connections with members of Tabor’s community and residents of Marion were also made at the Tabor Neighbor parties hosted by Head of School Tony Jaccaci on campus.

Until next summer, enjoy the slideshow below!
