Community Answers the Call: 1,082 Donors Power TaborTime in Tabor's 150th Year

Tabor Academy's Day of Giving, TaborTime, has always been about more than numbers—it's about community showing up for community. This year, with Tabor's 150th anniversary as the backdrop, the School by the Sea® set an ambitious goal of 1,000 donors in 24 hours. On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, Seawolves from across the globe not only answered the call—they surpassed it. By the end of the day, 1,082 members of the Tabor community had made a gift, raising more than $431,000 in a single extraordinary day.

"Day of Giving has become a tradition at Tabor—there is no better time to honor the past, present, and future through philanthropic support," says Abby Magni, Director of the Fund for Tabor. "Tabor's 150th is a milestone worth celebrating, and ensuring Elizabeth Taber's legacy lives on has been at the heart of TaborTime this year."

The energy behind that legacy started building long before the 24-hour clock began. Social media posts counted down to the day with a focus on the “Sounds of Tabor” that unite a community across the decades. At the same time, Student Advancement Ambassadors fanned out across campus to spread the word, rallying classmates and igniting school spirit.

The excitement was visible everywhere—in the Tabor spirit dress day that filled the halls with Tabor and Seawolf gear, and in a themed dinner that turned the evening meal into a celebration. A total of 144 students made gifts, with the Class of 2027 leading the way in donor count and the Class of 2026 raising the most money among student classes—a fitting contribution from a class on the eve of graduation. Current students are learning not just to receive the gift of a Tabor education, but to pay it forward.

The spirit of friendly competition ran deep. Alumni called on former classmates, leaderboards lit up, and class years jockeyed for the top spot well into the night. "I personally enjoy the competition that the Day of Giving inspires between class years—it's a great motivator!" says Jessie Newell, Director of Alumni and Family Engagement.

As in past years, TaborTime saw a remarkable reach. Donors participated from across the globe, a testament to how far the Tabor community stretches and how strong those bonds remain, no matter the distance. Matches and challenge gifts multiplied the impact of every contribution, turning individual generosity into something larger than any single gift could be.

"TaborTime is a reflection of what makes this community so extraordinary," says Stephen Ginter, Director of Advancement. "The generosity of our students, alumni, parents, faculty, staff, trustees, and friends speaks not only to their commitment to Tabor, but to their belief in the students whose lives are shaped here every day. We are deeply grateful for this remarkable outpouring of support and the lasting impact it will have."

Each gift added to a collective investment in what Tabor has always been and what it will continue to become for the next 150 years.
