Admissions Travel: Zooming Right Along...

In a normal year, Tabor’s staff of eight admissions officers would be loading suitcases and canvas Tabor bags with freshly printed promotional materials. They would be making travel plans and setting out to meet prospective students and families all across the country and around the world.

This year, of course, is not normal. Tabor’s admissions officers will still be meeting prospective Seawolves and their families, but will be doing so from campus. We still have fresh promotional materials, but they are digital this year. We will pop onto screens in the classrooms at our feeder schools, thanks to our amazing partners in secondary placement, instead of coming to campus for our yearly visits. We are looking forward to waving hello on Zoom, from our homes and offices to yours, instead of shaking hands across the table at a fair.

We might be even busier than ever before! Here is a rundown of what we have planned for the fall, so far:

  • We are offering virtual campus tours, thanks to the hard work and dedication of our student guides. They will personally narrate a guided virtual reality experience via Zoom and the screen sharing capability. They look forward to meeting you and sharing their Tabor experience!

  • Interviews will also be conducted virtually. Families may book an interview back to back with the tour, or separately from the tour.

  • A tour may be conducted by a Tabor admissions officer if absolutely necessary due to scheduling. Other opportunities to interact virtually with Tabor students are available! See below.

Our events schedule features a wide range of options including our own virtual events, collaborations with peer schools and organizations, and appearances in other virtual events.

  • We will offer our Tabor 101 virtual information sessions and Tabor 201 virtual student panel discussions every Tuesday, alternating each week between 101’s and 201’s! Watch this space for the next iteration of our virtual events, coming later this fall.

  • We have a full slate of virtual events with our collaborative network, Great Boarding Schools Group, divided up by region. We are participating in a new initiative, Boarding School 360, hosted by Garrett Educational Consulting in North Carolina.

  • We have individual school visits scheduled as well. If your child attends a feeder school, check our website to see when we are presenting at their school!

You can find our complete schedule of visits & events, as well as registration forms for all events, on our website.

See you soon, virtually!
