Get to Know the 11th Grade Class Dean

Q: Hello Mr. Rorke, can you introduce yourself?
A: My name is Mr. Rorke, and I am the 11th-grade class dean. I teach Leaps class, coach varsity football, and boys JV basketball. Additionally, I oversee the day student houses and the day student proctors as well as the Common Good program, and I do dorm duty in Makepeace.

Q: What does the 11th-grade class dean do?
A: As the junior class dean, my role is to assist the juniors in taking the "next step". The juniors are typically beginning to assume leadership roles on campus and start to wrestle with what happens after Tabor. I am excited for the school year to start and look forward to meeting our new students in August.

Q: Can you tell us a little about yourself?
A: I am beginning is my fourth year at Tabor. I spent my first two years in the College Counseling office and moved to the Dean's office last year. Before arriving at Tabor, I spent twenty-eight years coaching college football with stops that included Dartmouth, Trinity, Lehigh, and Georgia Tech. I live off-campus in Marion with my wife, Mary Alice, and my two sons Danny '19 and Liam '23. I am an avid fan of Tabor's athletic teams, an obsessed golfer, and always ready to play pickup hoops in my free time.

Q: What is your favorite dining hall meal?
My favorite dining hall meal is linguini with red clam sauce.

A: Any fun facts that you want to share?
I have had the good fortune to coach five quarterbacks who have played professionally.
