Alum's Film Selected to the Woods Hole Film Festival
Congrats to alum and filmmaker Jack Gordon '17 on the selection of his documentary "Celestial" into the 2020 Woods Hole Film Festival! "Celestial" is about the Tabor Boy student crew and how they used their knowledge of the ancient art of celestial navigation in the prestigious Marion-Bermuda sailing race to discover a pure form of sailing and a new connection to the sea.
In a normal year, the film would screen at Falmouth Academy and the event would include the filmmakers along with some of the S.S.V. Tabor Boy crew for a Q&A and discussion with the audience. That is still the goal of the film festival, albeit in a virtual environment.
Kids Day is Sunday, July 26, and the Celestial event is at 1pm EDT. The film is available to watch the entire week of the festival - July 25 through August 1 - but the live Q&A is scheduled for the 26th.
New Student Academic Gatherings - How to find success at Tabor.
On August 13th at 8:00 pm EST join our department chairs, colleagues and a few returning students to learn more about finding academic success. You will have the opportunity to join four different departments and hear about the experiences of some of our returning students in our classrooms. The Zoom rooms will rotate on the quarter hour. You can choose the rooms you would like to visit. The room information will be shared with you on the morning of the 13th in your Tabor email. Please keep an eye out if you have registered for the event. We can’t wait to see you there!
We are offering an opportunity for the parents/guardians of students of color to gather, process and connect around Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Tabor. This Zoom meeting will provide an opportunity to hear from campus leadership, time for open discussion, as well as an opportunity to ask questions. This meeting is an affinity space for parents/guardians of children of color only.
