The Seawolves saw lots of action leading into the winter break with Wrestling, Girls’ Basketball, Boys’ Basketball, Girls’ Hockey and Boys’ Hockey competing throughout New England. The excitement continues on Saturday as the puck drops at the two-day Joshua Weeks Tournament, where Tabor will feature boys’ hockey action for spectators to enjoy. See the full schedule here.
Tabor Wrestling hosted The Battle on the Bay on December 21 and enjoyed a full day of competition in the Fish Center Field House. The Seawolves had a good showing, exhibiting grit and determination in their matches. The wrestlers return to action on January 11 as they travel to the Bissell Tournament hosted by The Hill School (PA).
Girls’ Varsity Basketball had a strong showing at the Rivers Tournament. The Seawolves prevailed over Worcester Academy, Northfield Mount Hermon, and Rivers and fell to Putnam Science Academy. The girls look to improve on their 7-1 record as they take on Groton at home on January 8.
Boys’ Varsity Basketball hosted the 7th Annual Class A Seacoast Classic. The tournament brings together Class A teams from all over New England who would not usually compete against each other. The Seawolves competed well, but came up short in all three contests, falling to Salisbury, Trinity-Pawling, and Avon. It was a great opportunity for the young squad to see the level of competition in Class A. The boys return to action on January 11 as they host Brooks School.
The Girls’ Varsity Hockey team came out undefeated at this year’s PKO/Taft Tournament. With shutout victories against Phillips Andover and Choate and a decisive victory against Taft, the girls moved on to prevail over Kent in the finals to win the two-day tournament. They are now 8-0 this season and will take to the ice again at home on January 11 versus Williston Northampton.
Boys’ Varsity Hockey spent a few days away at the Avon Tournament finishing with a victory over St. Paul’s and losses to Kent, Avon, and Trinity-Pawling. This weekend, they are looking to bounce back as they host the Joshua Weeks New Year’s Invitational Tournament at home starting at 9:00 AM on Saturday. See the full schedule here. Be sure to come by and watch all the action throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday in the Travis Roy Rink. Come out and enjoy the fun, grab a snack at the Beebe Grill and cheer on the Seawolves. The tournament was created by Joshua Weeks ’78 to celebrate the great game of ice hockey, and we hope to see you there!
