This past weekend brought the fall sports season to a close, and a few of our teams were looking to go out with a bang!
Boys’ Cross Country finished off their 15-3 season with a third-place showing in the NEPSTA Championship. Both Girls’ Volleyball and Field Hockey ranked third in their respective tournaments and opened up their championship runs at home with wins over Worcester Academy and Andover. The turf field and Stone gym were packed with the entire community cheering on their fellow Seawolves. A true display of Tabor pride at it’s best was when the Field Hockey team came in to the Stone gym to support the Volleyball team and received a standing ovation for their victory. It was a great moment for our community.
Volleyball went on the road to play Kingswood Oxford in the semi-final round and although they fought hard they lost 3-0. Field Hockey matched up with Hotchkiss school for their semi-final bout and came away with a 4-1 victory! The team didn’t have much time to celebrate their win as they traveled to Rivers to play the undefeated Sacred Heart Greenwich Tigers the very next day for the NEPSAC Championship.
With 6:08 left in the first, the Seawolves took the lead and marched into half time up 1-0. Sacred Heart then came back and tied the game up at 1-1 with 12:50 left in the second half. The Tigers added one more goal late in the game and held on to win the NEPSAC tournament 2-1 over our Seawolves.
We want to congratulate all of our athletes on a terrific fall season and can’t wait to see the competition that our winter schedule will bring.
We will celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. during our Saturday School Day with an Emmy award-winning television producer, public speaker, and peace advocate, followed by small group discussions.
