Enjoy a Virtual Tour of SSV Tabor Boy

Recently, Cyril Verley, parent of the 2016 XO of Tabor Boy, Thibaut Deluca-Verley ’16, contacted Cap Geil to ask if he could provide a special gift to Tabor.  Mr. Verley’s company, CDV Systems, Inc., provides architectural consulting on a program called Revit, which creates very detailed CAD drawings of buildings. To augment this business, he recently began offering 3D photo scanning of real estate for facilities managers and those marketing high-end real estate. As he completed a recent project, he thought it would be fun to do a scan of Tabor Boy.  He thought it would be a fantastic service to Tabor to provide a 3D scan of SSV Tabor Boy so that prospective students and alumni could see the vessel in detail.
Verley came to campus last week and was assisted by Cap Geil and the crew to take the photo scans from multiple points on deck and below decks. As Verley positioned the camera, the crew would take the photo via an iPad and ensure that the scan came out properly. In the high and tight spaces, they would swap roles as the students were a bit more agile! After a couple of attempts, they managed to scan the whole ship!
We are so grateful to Mr. Verley and the crew for their effort. The views provide a terrific opportunity to tour the vessel from the comfort of one’s living room, whether one is a newcomer to Tabor Boy or an old hand.
Please enjoy the tour here. As you click on the circles illuminated throughout the image, the camera will take you further into the vessel!  Enjoy!

From floating farms in Bangladesh to ice pyramids in the Himalayas, these stories reveal incredible ingenuity and resourcefulness in the face of environmental adversity.
