Great Fall Season for the Seawolves

It is hard to believe that the 2019 fall season is soon coming to a close. It has been a great three months for our Seawolves with hard work, determination, and teamwork being major themes for each program.

Each year our teams need to reconstitute themselves and incorporate the newest Seawolves into the mix. That is not always easy after losing strong senior talent and leadership that produces such great team chemistry. As new leaders take the lines and embrace new members, each teammate must learn to trust each other and commit to each other. This chemistry is often the most important element of a successful team. At Tabor, learning what it means to be a good teammate and playing with a high level of sportsmanship are our top priorities.

The boys cross country team, after graduating some stellar runners, has maintained their strength with 14 wins and just 3 losses this season. Girls’ cross country has enjoyed a building year as participation has increased and each runner has made significant strides over the course of the season. The boys’ and girls’ coaches and captains are proud of each runner’s determination to get better every week.

Football also witnessed improvement and enjoyed nice wins over Rivers, Lawrence, and St. Mark’s. They look to finish the season strong, doubling their win total from last fall. The JV squad is currently undefeated this season and the coaches look forward to future contributions of those players as they move up the ranks.

In boys soccer, although plagued by injuries, the team continues to play hard in every contest. Despite the setbacks, the players have supported each other and have a lot to be proud of. As always boys 3rds soccer has had a lot of fun this fall and recently enjoyed the 6th annual Legends Game. There is real strength across the board in our girls’ soccer program. The program currently boasts 23 wins, with lots of young talented players all looking forward to finishing the season strong. The varsity team is hoping victories in the last few games of the season will earn them a seed in the Class A Tournament.

The top-performing teams this fall are field hockey currently, holding a 14-2 record, and girls’ volleyball at 13-2, and currently undefeated within the ISL. These teams have been impressive all season and we expect they will earn a strong seed at the NEPSAC tournament. Both JV squads have also had a strong year with great spirit among the girls.

As the fall wraps-up, the fans are eager for the excitement and energy the Fish Center holds each winter. With strong traditions in basketball, hockey, squash, and wrestling, everyone can enjoy a spirited afternoon cheering on the Seawolves this winter!
