Tabor is pleased to announce that six students have been named Commended Students in the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program. Seniors Ben Ackerman, Xindi (Cindy) Bao, Grace Mead, Christine Steege, Jose Sulaiman, and Yutian (Victor) Wei were presented a Letter of Commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation at All School Meeting, recognizing their outstanding performance on the 2019 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
Over 1.5 million high school juniors take the PSAT each fall (including Tabor’s junior class). Of those, the top 3% of scorers qualify as Commended Students. Based on her performance last fall, in addition to her status as a Commended Student, Steege also qualified for recognition in the National Hispanic Scholars Program. We are proud to recognize these scholastically talented Seawolves for their accomplishments!
Given the pandemic, Tabor is hosting an ACT for its own students, primarily juniors. These students register through MyACT with a specific code shared by the College Counseling Office. Registration deadline is January 8 (Jan 9 – 15: late fee required).
