Tabor Academy will once again this fall be hosting two college fairs for juniors and seniors. Over 100 college representatives from schools in the U.S. and abroad will be on campus to discuss their programs and answer questions. The list includes small liberal arts colleges and large research universities; schools in major metropolitan cities and more remote areas; and colleges offering Division I and Division III athletics. Dialogue with college reps is meant to be fun and informative, not evaluative.
The college fair is an important opportunity for our students. For juniors, it is a chance to begin the conversation about college and fit, to explore the range of schools in the U.S. and abroad, and to begin to understand what they want and need from their college experience. For seniors, they are finalizing their college list; questions and conversations with college reps are more pointed and detailed. In most cases, the admissions representative our students meet is the individual who will read their application. College representatives can put a face to a name, and students can fine-tune their lists, explore their interests, and practice the all-important skill of talking about who they are and what their goals may be.
College fairs will be held Monday, September 16, and Monday, October 6, from 2:45 PM to 4:00 PM in the Fish Center for Health & Athletics. We are pleased to be able to offer this opportunity to our students conveniently here at home.
Students will have a sleep in while the faculty meets this morning. Day students are welcome to come at the usual time for breakfast, if they want. Classes will meet through the afternoon and there will be no co-curricular activities.
Please join John Quirk, Head of School and hosts Mr. and Mrs. Lee Pokoik '63 GP '23 for a cruising reception aboard the Marina Jack II 2 Marina Plaza Sarasota 2:00pm. - 4:00pm (boarding promptly at 1:45pm)
