Tabor’s New Summer Scholars Series

Beyond the many offerings Tabor offers for summer study and fun from specialty sports camps to MakerCamp and Marine Science Camp to our fun traditional summer camp and Tabor Gateways, we are now announcing a new offering: Tabor Summer Scholars Series.

Partnering with an alumnus who specializes in summer enrichment, we are offering some high-level seminars for summer study for high school age students. The faculty looks terrific and the topics they are offering from Artificial Intelligence to preparation for the American Mathematics Competition to an intensive SAT Bootcamp will entice high school age students to immerse themselves into a week or two of learning opportunities. There are three concurrent seminars starting June 23 and running until July 20. A student could take one, or all three. Students must sign up before June 15.

There is also still space available in our other various summer offerings for students of all ages and which run for different lengths of time from one week to three weeks or more. Each allows a residential stay for students coming from afar. See the course descriptions below for the new Tabor Summer Scholars Series, and be sure to visit our summer website to learn more about all the other programs we offer here at Tabor.

There is something for all ages and interests!

2 WEEK INTENSIVE SAT BOOTCAMP (June 23 – July 7)

The SAT program will help students master all aspects of the SAT exam, including reading, grammar, math, essay, and vocabulary.

Our teachers have deep expertise in the new SAT and will comprehensively cover all the theory, fundamentals, rules, strategies, and techniques required to equip students for the exam. This will be complemented with numerous drills for students to put their learning into practice, as well as mock exams to assess progress. Over 90% of students have shown score increases of 80-100+ points after the completion of the program.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (July 7 – 14)

The Intro to AI program is designed for 10-12th-grade students of all backgrounds and career aspirations. It is a one-week journey into the rapidly advancing world of machine learning and AI. From foundational machine learning algorithms, computer vision to reinforcement learning, students will learn the fundamental theories and mathematics behind cutting edge algorithms and applications, as well as practical lessons and best practices for building machine learning and AI solutions. Each module is designed to be accessible, visually engaging and relatable for all students while fully preparing them to tackle hands-on projects using state-of-the-art algorithms running on industrial cloud-computing and machine learning platforms. In addition to learning the technical aspects of machine learning and AI, students will develop an appreciation for the impact this technology will have on education, careers, and the fabric of society, enabling them to become informed and active participants in a future where machine learning and AI is ubiquitous.

AMERICAN MATHEMATICS COMPETITION PREP (July 14 – July 20)

Our math program is intended for students desiring to expand their mathematics knowledge beyond regular classroom settings. While our summer program has a flavor for AMC preparations, it is designed to go beyond math contests and help students develop systematic methods and skills that are useful for both further studies and work in the future.
