Tabor Presents at Marine & Oceanographic Technology Network
Three Tabor seniors and Tabor faculty presented their work in marine science to the Marine & Oceanographic Technology Network membership on Monday night. As hosts, Dr. John Crosby and Anna Douglas '19 presented our coral research and restoration work in the Caribbean and Bahamas and Kellie Navarro '19 shared her project developing a sustainable aquaponics system. We also invited Rich Arena, a graduate student at UMASS Dartmouth’s School of Marine Science and Technology (SMAST) to share his effort to calibrate various ocean data points (temperature, currents) received from satellites and AUV’s. Sophie Banas ’19, has been assisting Arena and shared the work she had done to compare those data sets to computer-modeled data. Read Sophie’s Blog post about her project with SMAST here.
