Girls' Sailing: Tabor's girls' team sailed very well at home this Sunday, besting 12 other schools on their way to earning a berth in the New England Girls' sailing championship to be sailed at Bowdoin College on May 11-12, 2019. Anna Olsen '20 with Menasha Leport '21 and Carter Riggs '22 won A-division with 13 points in five races. Ellie Dyroff '22 and Cat Shakin '19 won B-division with two first-place finishes, two seconds, and one third-place finish in the 13-boat fleet. In fleet racing regattas, each school places one boat in each of two divisions with each boat earning points equal to their finishing position. The lowest total score wins. The overall regatta is scored similarly. The school with the lowest total points for all the races is the winner.
Varsity Boys Track: Ross Stewart ‘21 is our lone hurdler who often trains on his own. He has taken on the most challenging events on the track, as very few dares to try to sprint over high hurdles. And Ross is not even tall, so it is even more of a challenge for him. But he has impressed us all with his dedication the past two years. This past weekend, Ross finished second in both hurdle races in a five-school meet held at Milton setting his personal best in the 110 m high hurdles and diving across the line for second in the 300 m intermediate hurdles. Congrats Ross! You are an inspiration to your teammates and coaches!
We will celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. during our Saturday School Day with an Emmy award-winning television producer, public speaker, and peace advocate, followed by small group discussions.
