Tabor hosted one of three qualifying rounds of the New England Girls' Championship (Herreshoff Trophy) on Sunday at the waterfront and came out on top of the heap! There were 13 schools competing at Tabor and still more at the other locations: Milton Academy and Sail Black Rock in CT. The top six schools qualify for the finals held on Saturday, May 11-Sunday May 12 at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, ME.
Tabor Seawolves finished first out of the 13 competitors, earning a ticket to the New England Girls’ Championship! Anna Olsen ’20 with Menasha Leport ’21 and Carter Riggs ’22 won A-division with 13 points in 5 races. Ellie Dyroff ’22 and Cat Shakin ’19 won B-division with two first-place finishes, 2 seconds, and one third-place finish in the 13-boat fleet. In fleet racing regattas, each school places one boat in each of two divisions with each boat earning points equal to their finishing position. The lowest total score wins. The overall regatta is scored similarly. The school with the lowest total points for all the races is the winner.
Coach Hurd shared this picture of the girls and said, “On to Maine!” Well done, Seawolves!
