Remembering Nick Veronesi ’13

On Saturday March 30, we took some time to remember Nick Veronesi ’13, who passed away on October 3rd 2018. Two of Nick’s classmates, Kate Vareika ’13 and Clare Knowlton ’13 had planned and organized a very special service that took place outside of the Beebe Grille to share a permanent offering to the school given in his memory by his classmates and friends.

Members of Nick’s family, his friends, and teachers gathered outside of the Beebe Grille as the engraved “Brick for Nick” was unveiled on the patio. The group exchanged many wonderful memories of Nick at Tabor and what being a Seawolf meant to him.

Nick was always the loudest and proudest Tabor fan, no matter what sport he was enjoying. His radiant energy and enthusiasm could not go unnoticed and was quite contagious. Sharing stories of Nick and our special recollections of his time at Tabor allowed for his family to rejoice in the special impact that Nick made on his classmates, friends, and teachers. Nick’s mom, Karen Veronesi said, “Being with loving family and friends to celebrate Nick’s life and career at Tabor brings back wonderful memories and makes us smile.”

While this was an outward expression of our memories of Nick, there is no doubt that his memory lives on in the hearts of every Seawolf who had the opportunity to know him during his time at Tabor. The strong bonds of friendship that bind our community together are unbreakable and offer support for each of us in times of happiness and mourning. Our Tabor community is truly unique and special in that way, and seeing how the power of our love for Nick and for our school positively impacted his family was helpful for each person in attendance.

Nick left a lasting impact on the Tabor community, so it is appropriate to close with his favorite saying: “Go Seawolves!”
