Winter Season Success!

Slightly more than halfway through the winter season, our athletic teams are proving to be dominant in their categories. As competitors in the Independent School League, we anticipate year to year and season to season to be facing a very high level of competition within the league. This season, all of our teams are thriving, and some in particular are gunning for a repeat ISL Champion title.
Our Girls’ Varsity Basketball team, always ranked high in respect to the other teams in the league, is sporting an impressive record of 14 wins and only 1 loss this season. With two impressive wins over an ISL rival, Nobles and Greenough School, the Seawolves have established themselves in a position to claim the All-ISL Champion title yet again. This team is comprised of great student-athletes who work just as hard in the classroom as they do in the gym. If you haven’t already, come out and support this great team as they strive to bring home another championship title!
Another highly successful team is our Girls’ Varsity Hockey team. With an early season tournament win at the PKO Taft Tournament, it seemed as though the team would have an awesome season. That has proved to be true, as so far the team has secured an impressive undefeated record. The Seawolves are up to 12 wins this season with only 1 tie which was ultimately decided by a shootout to determine their placement in the Taft Tournament bracket. The Seawolves won that game in the shootout, but in terms of regular season play, the game counts as a tie. With impressive wins over Loomis Chaffee and New Hampton School, the Seawolves are putting themselves in a great spot to be repeat ISL Champions. This team is another great group of Tabor’s female student-athletes competing and excelling in their domain. With 12 games remaining in their regular season schedule, you can be assured that each one of the remaining games will be exciting and full of competition.
In other sports, our Squash teams are heading to Nationals this weekend where they will face great competition and should find some success. Boys’ Basketball has been doing well, securing a record that we expect will earn them some tournament play at the end of the season. And our wrestling team is looking forward to hosting the Graves Kelsey Tournament on February 12.
All of our teams are deserving of praise this winter as they are each playing at a very high level and competing well. From the JV level to the varsity level, the effort from students and coaches is inspiring and shows the overall excellence of our athletic programs. While our athletes are engaged in healthy competitive environments, they are learning not just about their sport, but more importantly, about teamwork, leadership, and relationship building.
We wish all our teams continued success and the best of luck for the remainder of their season.
