The Tabor boys’ basketball team improved to 4-1 on the young season with a 71-45 win over ISL and regional rival St. Georges. The game started as a dogfight, as St. Georges made shots out of the gate and the two teams found themselves tied at 15 early in the first half.
However, the home team turned up the defensive pressure and finished the half with an incredible 29-5 run to take a 44-20 lead into halftime. The ‘wolves were led by senior Connor Peterson, who blocked shots, rebounded and scored 15 points in the first stanza.
St. Georges refused to go away, and kept the margin about the same for much of the game. But in the end, Tabor’s depth and energy was too much. Tabor had four players in double figures, led by Peterson’s 15. Seniors CJ Redd, Mike Perry and Tyler Murray contributed 13, 11 and 11 as well.
