Dede Nickerson is a successful media strategist and creative producer with 25-plus years of experience in studio management, strategy production, and acquisitions, with an emphasis on Asia. Currently, she is working cross-continentally between Los Angeles, California and Beijing, China as a producer and head of strategy at Huanxi Media, an innovative media company in China. Dede is also advising the National Basketball Association (NBA) on government relations and strategy. An expert in relationship management, revenue growth, and strategic partnership development, Dede has worked with several studios to establish and develop their businesses in China. In 2015, she founded Infinity Pictures with China Media Capital. Prior to establishing Infinity Pictures, Dede was the head of strategy and production at Sony Pictures China, where she established their Government Relations program that led to the releases of new titles for Sony in China. In addition, she produced Jiang Wen’s Gone with the Bullets, Chen Kaige’s Monk Comes Down the Mountain, and the Chinese remake of My Best Friend's Wedding. Before joining Sony Pictures, Dede produced Paramount Pictures’ Chinese remake of What Women Want and, while at Miramax Film Asia, she oversaw hits such as Hero and Shaolin Soccer and was the Associate Producer of Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill.
In addition to her film career, Dede is an Asia specialist, devoting significant time to addressing education and health care issues in China. She is the founder of the Dandelion School, a board director for Teach for China, and was instrumental in the initial establishment and program development for the Special Olympics with China Disabled Persons' Foundation.
