Am now thoroughly enjoying retirement after a checkered career as a banker, purchasing agent, contracts manager, owner of mortgage brokerage, and financial advisor. Triple bypass 3 years ago was a new lease on life. Very involved in lots of activities including treasurer for my yacht club which entailed a total revamping of our accounting systems, instituting long range planning and budgeting and various cost reduction actions. I’m spearheading the reinvigoration of planned giving at my church. I’m a volunteer fundraiser for the YMCA. Lots of family gatherings including the 161st consecutive Read family Thanksgiving event. Actively cruising and racing my C&C 34 which I’ve owned for 27 years. Great boat, great crew and lots of fun. How did I have time to work?? Lost my beloved wife of 49 years to Alzheimer’s 4 years ago. I was her caregiver with family help while continuing to work. Leaves a big hole in my heart but am dipping my toes into making new friends, so I’ll see how that works out. Great to see classmates at our 60th reunion last summer – my first time back to Tabor. Still living in Mystic, CT and always open for classmates to stop by.
