HANK HASKELL ’52

I graduated from the School by the Sea and headed to Bowdoin College— graduating in 1956, becoming a U.S. Army lieutenant, assigned command of 70 men in France. I married an RN, Pat, from Atlanta, who joined me in France. We joined a New England family textile business and moved our operation to the South—building a new plant and eventually employing 450 people—Brunswick Yarns—sold 1995 to a British firm. Pat graduated Furman and earned her MFA in Theatre at the UGA. I graduated from Harvard Business School in 1977. Together, we founded a live theatre on Hilton Head Island—running it for 22 years. Have written several books. My Tabor English teachers: Gowing, Markham, and Gerlach all inspired me to write. My upcoming (and twelfth published book), Roots, Routes, & Reflections, will be available in Spring 2023.
