The Tabor community has had several opportunities to convene over the past few months. Events have been held off-campus in cities near and far from Marion, and there have been new memories created for alums who have come back to the School by the Sea.

Perhaps most notably, this October, the Tabor Alumni Council (TAC) gathered on campus for Tabor Day. For the first time in several years, TAC alums spanning generations returned to campus to engage with one another and hear from Head of School Tony Jaccaci and other faculty members. The day was envisioned by TAC leadership: Colby Morgan ’09, Selbie Jason ’09, and Dave Richardson ’72 and was organized to provide alums insight into the current student experience, while energizing the work of TAC. With a walking tour through campus, alums had the opportunity to envision themselves in the physical spaces that our learners are today. Places that were highlighted included Café ’95 in the Travis Roy Campus Center, the newly refurbished Fish Field, formerly known as the Lower Chapel Field, and the Wakeman - Tabor’s new 24-seat launch that provides Seawolves enhanced access to Sippican Harbor, fondly named after retired faculty member Wiley Wakeman ’68. Alums also learned about “Tabor & the World,” the ninth grade TaborX program, led by Jon Sirois.

The purpose of the day was to invigorate TAC, get them excited about Tabor today, and empower them to create an informed strategy to engage fellow alums and re-connect them with their beloved School by the Sea. Out of the planning session, several alumni-led initiatives were discussed and are being executed on today. We hope to see you next Tabor Day on November 1, 2025!

In January, the campus community came together to celebrate the memory and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. in an inspiring program orchestrated by RoseMarie Wallace, Director of Diversity, Equity, and Belonging at Tabor. At the heart of this year’s programming was the Tides of Connection: Belonging & Change Awards, a celebration of alumni and community members who embody the values of belonging, equity, and transformative change. Outstanding contributions from our alumni, faculty, and former faculty were honored in Wickenden Chapel in front of the student body: Christian Garris ’05, Araion Bradshaw ’16, Anaelle Ndoye ’17, Stephen Downes, and Anika Walker-Johnson, former faculty member. The month concluded with the heartfelt Travis Roy ’95 Jersey Dedication Ceremony and commemorated Travis’s life of inspiration and resilience. We miss you, #14.

We welcome all alumni, current and past parents, as well as friends of Tabor to join us at any of these events. Please visit the Alumni Events page to register.
