The Tabor Family Network

At Tabor, we’re more than just a school, we’re a community and a second family. Once you and your family enroll, you join a tight-knit network of global Seawolves, all of whom come together to support our students, now and even beyond their years at Tabor.

Our School by the Sea warmly welcomes families from across the nation and around the globe, uniting more than 17,000 parents, guardians, grandparents, alumni, faculty and staff, trustees, and friends as our extended Seawolf family. Our aim is to nurture robust connections and uphold Tabor’s mission in our daily lives. Most importantly, the Tabor community stands strong to back our present students—the youngest members of our Tabor family—as an assembly of passionate advocates, volunteers, and philanthropists.

Engage and Participate

Regardless of your location—near or far—we encourage families to get involved, there are numerous opportunities to engage, both in-person and virtually, throughout the year.

Attend Year-Round Events

  • Fall Family Weekend and Tabor Day grant you the chance to observe sports matches, enjoy theater performances, and connect with your student’s advisor.
  • Seawolf Saturday reunites the entire Tabor community on campus for an energetic day of sports competitions and outdoor celebrations.
  • Local and regional Tabor events offer a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow parents and Tabor alumni in your vicinity.
  • Seawolf Stop gatherings, held before each break, allow you to engage with administrators, faculty, and staff in a casual setting while grabbing a bite to eat.
  • Virtual events, including the State of the School, ensure you're well-informed about all things Tabor.
  • An abundance of student athletic contests, concerts, plays, art exhibitions, and community events are always waiting for you to explore.

And there's even more in store!

Join The Parent Advancement Council

The Parent Advancement Council (PAC) is a select group of families who contribute at the leadership giving level and are among Tabor’s most ardent ambassadors and advocates. A family’s participation in the PAC is an investment that is not unique to their student’s independent experience; their philanthropy and involvement sustains Tabor’s commitment to educating and empowering the future generation of Seawolves to connect, serve, and lead. The PAC offers exclusive opportunities to make important connections with senior leadership and allows members to engage more deeply with the school during various in-person and virtual events throughout the year.

Participate in the Parents Association

The Parents Association (PA) at Tabor strives to enhance and enrich the connection between the school and families by cultivating an inclusive platform for mutual interaction, participation, and volunteering, all of which help you feel more connected to your child’s educational journey. Every parent is automatically a member of the PA and is encouraged to attend meetings, which are held throughout the year. The PA hosts various virtual and in-person meetings and events, led by class representatives, offering opportunities for all parents and guardians to join in. All parents who are interested in being more involved should inquire about our leadership opportunities.

At Tabor, you don’t have to be local to be involved. For international families and those residing beyond driving range from Marion, the PA welcomes you to join in. Alongside hybrid and virtual engagement options available all year round, you can work towards building a Tabor community in your vicinity. Our Parent Engagement Office is here to help you make it happen.

Become Part of a Philanthropic Community

Philanthropy has been a cornerstone of our community since our founding in 1876 by Elizabeth Taber. Each year, parents, alumni, grandparents, and friends play a pivotal role in supporting ongoing operations through the Fund for Tabor and capital initiatives that enhance the student experience and uphold the school's mission.

Contributions beyond tuition are fundamental to upholding the school's mission, and we depend on our current families to contribute to Tabor through an annual gift. Each year, the senior class works toward a special contribution, leaving behind a lasting legacy for future generations to enjoy. Recent Senior Class Gifts have included patio furniture and firepits.
