The Office of Parent Engagement is excited to announce that we will be holding a virtual Parents’ Association Meeting on Wednesday, February 9 at 8:00pm EST with special guest speaker Alex Myers. Alex is an author and transgender advocate who will be presenting on Gender 101: What is gender and why does it matter at schools? Alex will be sharing his story and using it to help us all think about what we as individuals can do to be better informed and more understanding around gender identity and expression. Alex will share basic concepts, terminology and engage with some examples. There will be time for Q&A. Alex has met with our students and faculty so far this year and we are excited to now share Alex with our families. In addition to Alex’s program, we will hear from Head of School Tony Jaccaci P’23 and hear updates and about opportunities to get involved from Nina Prudden, Director of Parent Engagement. We hope to see you all on Zoom on February 9!
Students may register for this test date via their MyACT account. Registration deadline is January 7. A special code is needed to register, keeping registration to Tabor students only. Students will receive an email from Lauren Boucher that includes the code. NOTE: The code should not be shared with students from outside of Tabor.

Presenters: Steffon Gales, Associate Director of College Counseling and Loraine Snead, Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Many students of color desire a college campus where they are with other students who look like them. At predominantly white institutions (PWIs), like Tabor Academy, our students are interested in schools with a more diverse environment. Historically Black Colleges and Universities were designed to meet this need. This seminar session is one of many initiatives for the Tabor College Counseling office and serves as the starting point for discussions about the importance of considering HBCUs in a student’s college search. In partnership with the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Mr. Gales will provide insight on what HBCUs are and how to include them in your college conversations. Following his presentation, there will be a Q&A session moderated by Mrs. Snead.
