Ice Hockey - Girls Varsity

The Tabor girls' ice hockey program has two levels of competition: JV and varsity. The goal of the program is to find an appropriate level of competition for everyone who wants to play, and then find success at each level on both an individual and team basis. The JV team is a combination of less experienced players and girls who have never played before. The principles of teamwork, good sportsmanship, and a love of the game are cornerstones of what we teach. Skills are emphasized with all our players, as is positioning, game scenarios, and the rules of hockey.

The varsity team plays at the Division I level in New England Prep School Hockey, one of the most competitive leagues in the country.  The squad consists mostly of student-athletes who have played many years of hockey at the club level prior to coming to Tabor. Fast and skillful play are hallmarks of the Tabor game, all in the context of fair play and good sportsmanship. Over the past ten years, the varsity team has had great success and has earned a berth in the NEPSAC tournament nearly every year. In addition, during that same period of time, our players have gone on to play top college hockey at Division I, II, and III schools.
