2004 Varsity Girls Soccer
17-0-1 Undefeated Season
NEPSAC Class “B” New England Champions
Tabor Academy’s 2004 Varsity Girls’ Soccer Team was an outstanding squad, both in skill and the way they worked together. They were committed to each other and to becoming champions, a goal forged the prior year following their 0-1 loss in the 2003 NEPSAC Championship. From the start of the 2004 season, this team was a force on the field; opening with a dominant (4-1) win over Milton Academy, they never looked back. Tabor outscored its opponents 45-5, recorded 11 shutouts, and posted a 14-0-1 record. Their success was the result of a relentless pace, competitive practices, outstanding team chemistry, and the culture they fostered on and off the field. Heading into the tournament as the #1 seed, Tabor won in the finals 7-3. Overall, Tabor outscored its opponents 52-8, recorded 12 shutouts, achieved a final record of 17-0-1, and became New England Champions.
Undoubtedly, the 2004 Varsity Girls’ Soccer Team was the best in New England, but what was most important was that they represented the ideals of Tabor’s student-athlete. Building on the concept of Coach Patrick’s beloved “Perfect Circle,” after each game the team met hand-in-hand and recited “We are a Perfect Circle. No Beginning. No End. No Seniors. No Freshmen. No Starters. No Bench. No Coaches. No Players. No Rookies. No Whining. No Injuries. No Losing.”
