Ali Brewer ’96 was a three-sport varsity athlete at Tabor Academy, earning 11 varsity letters in soccer, hockey, and lacrosse. Extremely competitive, Ali took pride in her hard work and ability to lead by example, qualities that positioned her to be elected captain in all three sports her senior year. While garnering several individual honors, the success of the teams she played on is what she remembers most. While at Tabor, the soccer, hockey, and lacrosse teams never experienced a losing record. In 1994, Ali backstopped the perennially dominant Varsity Girls’ Hockey Team to a 24-0 undefeated season and a Division 1 New England Championship. Beyond her impressive accomplishments on the ice and field, Ali was a proud four year member of the student body, received several AP honors, and took home the Physics Award as a senior.
Ali’s accomplishments continued at the next level at Brown University. The most accomplished goaltender in the history of the nation's oldest women's hockey program, Ali won the Patty Kazmaier Award in 2000 as the most outstanding player in women's collegiate hockey. She was also the epitome of a scholar-athlete with the team's highest GPA for three straight seasons, as well as earning Academic All-Ivy honors, named Ivy League Player of the Year, and was a three time All-ECAC and All-American. During Ali's four years, the Bears won the ECAC Championships in 1998 and 2000, Ivy League Championships in 1997 and 2000, and played in the Frozen Four National Championship Tournament three times from 1998-2000, finishing as the National Runner-Up twice.
After a year playing with the U.S. Women’s National Team, Ali went on to receive her MBA. She now lives in Chicago, working as a Global Marketing Director for Wilson Sporting Goods.
