1995 Boys Varsity Squash Team
In the winter of 1995, Tabor’s boys varsity squash team had the best record in New England. The team remained intact from the previous year, helping to deepen the bonds and skill within their ranks. They also started to play larger schools with more competitive programs, helping to improve Tabor’s overall performance. The group found success despite the recent shift from hardball squash to the international or "softball” version, though they continued to play on hardball courts. Their undefeated season earned them the Millet Trophy at the New England Junior Championship Tour, the highest level of junior squash competition in the U.S.
Several members of the ’95 squad went on to play in college, many for Division I programs, and several were named captain of their respective teams. Foster Righter ’95 became captain at Annapolis, Ryan Bray ’96 went on to Denison University where he was named captain and was followed by his brother Michael Bray ’97 who was also named captain at Denison and led the team to finish 6th in the country, a school record. Ian Conway ’95 was named co-captain of Trinity College's first National Championship team in his senior year, kicking off a streak for the Bantams which lasted from 1999 to 2012, the longest winning streak in college sports history.
