International Applicants
What is the International Community at Tabor like?
The presence of over 129 international students at Tabor provides a special opportunity to promote connections with people and cultures from around the globe. Our curriculum, global community trips, and overseas exchange programs aim to build collaboration, learning, global understanding, and a sense of belonging within an internationally and culturally diverse school community.
A Global Educational Opportunity
We accept and welcome the challenges of working across cultures which involve not only assisting our International Students to integrate and adjust to American culture and boarding school life, but also making cultural outreach and acceptance a priority for all our students as they prepare for careers and lives in an ever-connected global economy.
Tabor Supports International Students and Families
The Center for International Students and Programs is led by Mr. Stephen Downes and Mr. David Wellstead. The Center also assists our International Students as advisors and advocates and facilitates communication between students, faculty, families, and alumni. They help with travel and visa requirements, assist in the college process, and work to build community throughout Tabor and broaden the cultural experience of our students. They travel frequently to Asia, Latin America, Europe, and the Caribbean to host admission and Tabor receptions and gatherings.
International Students Thrive at Tabor
A distinct result of Tabor's international program is the involvement of our International Students in both appointed and elected leadership positions across campus. International Student Co-Heads help lead our international program, and other International Students serve as dormitory proctors, head tour guides, co-editors of the yearbook, class officers, peer tutors, library proctors, and Global Partners for International Orientation. Each year, several International Students are elected as class officers by their classmates, reflecting their integration and active role in community life.

Scholar Programs
Tabor has the unique privilege of welcoming excellent students from three countries that send a small group of their top scholars, selected through a national competition that includes an exam and interview. This group, supported for their secondary, university, and postgraduate studies in the United States and several other countries, join us for their senior, and often junior, years. As future leaders and global citizens, they personify Tabor’s global engagement beyond our shores.
- Thai Scholars
The Kingdom of Thailand has sent one or two Thai Scholars regularly since the early 1960s. - Crown Prince Scholars
