How to Apply

The first step of the application is to complete the Tabor Inquiry Form.

Each year, starting in September, campus tours and interviews are available Monday-Friday. Students may also tour in the summer, but the schedule is more limited. Please self-schedule your required Admissions interview, along with a student-led campus tour, on our portal.

(Please note: Applicants from Mainland China must complete an initial interview through Vericant prior to scheduling their Tabor Admissions interview.)

We are pleased to announce that after careful consideration, we have made an adjustment to our SSAT policy. While we would like to see some form of standardized testing if it’s readily available, we no longer require the SSAT.

Testing scores can, for some applicants, be a positive addition to their applications. However, we recognize this isn’t the case for all applicants. We have always considered the full student application—grades, recommendations, activities and sports, and the interview—when making admissions decisions. As such, the SSAT is just one way in which students can demonstrate their capability and does not always present an optimal view into a student’s potential for success at Tabor.

For Those Submitting Optional Testing Scores:

If you choose to submit testing, we accept the SSAT, ISEE, MCAS, or other standardized testing from your home state. Additionally, the PSAT/ACT/SAT will be accepted for applicants reclassifying to grade 10 or applying for grade 11.

• Students who wish to learn more about the SSAT or register for the test, can do so online via the SSAT website.
• Students who have taken the PSAT, SAT or ACT may submit their scores via email to admissions@taboracademy.org.

Required Testing for Non-Native English Speakers:

Applicants who are non-native English speakers must still submit TOEFL scores, regardless of SSAT results or other standardized testing. We also accept the Duolingo English Test.

Tabor Test Codes:

If you choose to submit testing, in order to ensure that we receive your scores, please use the following test codes for Tabor Academy when you register:

• SSAT: 7594
• TOEFL: 8062
• SAT/ACT/PSAT and other standardized testing: Email a copy of your official score report to admissions@taboracademy.org

Tabor accepts both the Standard Application Online (SAO), available through Admission.org, and the Gateway to Prep Application.

Please follow the instructions provided within the individual application portals for submitting your materials. Your application will be forwarded to Tabor once you have paid the application fee.

Please note: you will need to register/create an account through either Admission.org or Gateway in order to complete an application. If you have technical issues completing your application, please contact the application site's technical support directly.

Artists and musicians wishing to share (optional) supplemental materials are welcome to do so via Dropbox.

Using Dropbox, please make a folder with images of your artwork and/or music files. Once files have been uploaded, share the folder through Dropbox with Tricia Smith, Visual Arts Coordinator, at tsmith@taboracademy.org. Ms. Smith will then receive a notification of your submission to her Dropbox.

Music files may be shared via email to Nadine Cunningham, Chair of the Music Department, at ncunningham@taboracademy.org. 

Applicants from China: Instead of Dropbox, please use ISSUU.com to create your portfolio and email the link to tsmith@taboracademy.org.

A complete Tabor application includes:

• An SAO or Gateway to Prep Application
• Interview* (can schedule before application is complete)
• SSAT (optional) or comparable testing scores
• TOEFL or Duolingo test (non-native English speakers only)

Once your application is complete, you will receive an official notification from the admissions office via email. You do not need to contact the office to check the status of your application. During peak admissions season, it may take one to two weeks to process admissions materials once they are submitted; however your materials are officially logged as of the date received. Thank you for your patience.
