Diversity, Equity, and Belonging

Tabor Academy purposefully prepares our students to connect, serve, and lead by supporting a culture of belonging through our campus, people, and programs.

We commit to a diverse, equitable and inclusive community that is free from harassment, bullying, racism and discrimination in all forms. All members of our community are supported and treated with dignity and respect. We seek to understand and honor the experiences of all individuals and empower them to reach their full potential. We commit to an educational experience that embraces multiple perspectives, fosters empathy, and cultivates a strong sense of belonging. A Tabor education supports a culture in which differences of opinion and perspectives are encouraged through honest and respectful conversation. In doing so, we develop and nurture independent minds through open inquiry, critical thinking, and constructive dialogue. (As Adopted by the Tabor Board of Trustees in October 2021)

At Tabor, we seek to grow our awareness of self, of others, and of the environment through civil discourse and meaningful dialogue. In doing so, we strive to be a community that actively builds connections, shares purpose, and cultivates a global understanding of diverse opinions and thought. Our goal is to ensure that every person has access to what they need to thrive, both within Tabor and in the wider world.

The Portrait of a Graduate reflects the highest scholarly accreditation standards across all areas of our program. It prepares students to succeed in an interconnected world by developing the empathy, knowledge, perspective and skills and habits of mind needed to navigate intercultural and intracultural contexts with confidence and purpose.
