Medical Chaperone, Health Center Transportation

About the Position

The Medical Chaperone role is to provide transportation service for student health related needs – travel to and from hospitals, doctor appointments, or other approved medical facilities for the express purpose of receiving medical attention; pick up prescriptions from pharmacies, or to address other Health Center directed activities. At times there is the need for students to be driven to local colleges, offsite educational meetings and other various trips as needed and approved by management.

The driver must adhere to all safety rules and complies with all traffic regulations in order to operate vehicle in a safe and courteous manner. A company vehicle will be made available to accomplish these tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Transport students to and from their approved medical related destinations in a safe manner
  • Communicate with Director of Health Center regarding student and family about travel arrangements
  • Coordinate with the Director, Health Center; Tabor Academy Physician; or designated Tabor Academy Health Center staff regarding the safe transport of students and picking up of prescriptions or other approved medical supplies
  • Obtain treatment plan recommendations for student medical visits
  • Monitor vehicle condition and report any malfunctions or damage on the vehicle immediately to the Director, Health Center and designated Plant Operations staff
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Must have a valid MA driver’s license with an excellent driving record (no moving violations)
  • Successful completion of CORI and fingerprinting
  • For purposes of safety, each trip shall not exceed four (4) occupants, including driver

Part-time, Non-exempt
