Sports Medicine

Student getting foot taped by one of Tabor's athletic trainers

Sports Medicine at Tabor

The athletic training room is located on the first floor of the Fish Center for Health and Wellness. It is staffed by two certified athletic trainers who work in conjunction with the nurses at the Health Center. The room is open to all Tabor students, no matter their activity level. Additionally, our trainers coordinate, as necessary, a fully detailed and integrated concussion management protocol supported by our Health Center personnel, coaches, faculty, and the Academics Office.

Football Contact Policy:
Tabor fully supports and abides by the New England Private Schools Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Football Coaches Association Contact Policy. The focus of the NEPSAC policy is on preseason contact and acclimatization and in-season contact. The teaching of proper technique, with safety a primary point of emphasis, is a priority in our practice sessions at all levels of play.

Athletic Trainers

The certified athletic trainer is a highly educated and skilled professional specializing in athletic health care. In cooperation with physicians and other allied health personnel, the AT functions as an integral member of the athletic health care team in secondary schools, colleges and universities, sports medicine clinics, professional sports programs and other athletic health care settings.
