Tabor Academy seeks to attract, develop and retain exceptional faculty members who will embrace and advance our school’s mission: To inspire a life-long love of learning, to instill a passion for the highest standards of achievement, to encourage personal responsibility, and to foster care for others and committed citizenship.
Ideal faculty candidates for boarding school jobs will have excellent communication skills; have enthusiasm, creativity and passion for the subject they teach; model the high standards of professionalism they expect their students to develop; and care for, challenge, and support the students with whom they work. A willingness to enthusiastically engage in all aspects of boarding school life (teaching, residential work, extracurricular activities, advising) and a desire to work in a multicultural community are essential characteristics of qualified candidates.
While teacher certification is not required for employment at Tabor Academy, all candidates must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in the subject field or a related field.
Because Tabor has both day and boarding students, faculty members either live on or near campus and help supervise the dorms.
Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest, resume, brief statement of educational philosophy, and the Employment Application for Faculty
. Tabor's faculty hiring cycle normally begins in late December and concludes by early May.
