The TASP swim activity is run under the guidelines of the American Red Cross's Learn to Swim Program. The primary purpose of the swim program is to help children learn to be safe when they are in or around water. Each swim class covers skills and knowledge in each of the six levels of swimming achievement and allows a swimmer to progress to more advanced levels. The child who elects swimming as an activity is tested and placed in a swim class that equals his or her's ability. Each class is taught by a certified Red Cross swimming instructor and qualified swimmer aides.
