This course gives students a head start in the geometry course they’ll be taking in the Fall. This course is ideal for the student who has taken algebra and who seeks to develop some ideas about logical reasoning as it applies to the Euclidean plane. Methods of proof are introduced, as well as opportunities to review algebra skills. Topics covered include parallel and perpendicular lines, congruences, similarity, and coordinate geometry. The students are expected to have some familiarity with these topics. Some time will be devoted to proofs, both algebraic and the more formal two- column variety.
