The material covered in Algebra I assumes that the participants have some algebra background prior to enrollment. The emphasis is placed upon the development of techniques that make the fundamental concepts of algebra more apparent. Students will learn to attack problems analytically, numerically, and graphically. The latter mode makes significant use of the graphics calculator as a problem-solving tool. The topics include solving linear and quadratic equations and inequalities. Problems are presented as applications of equation-solving skills.
