The Boys’ Varsity Soccer2006 team knew that they faced many challenges ahead as fifteen seniors moved into the alumnus ranks. Through the strong efforts and leadership of returning Seniors Tyler Mehegan, Jeff Schwartz and Mike Hambley and the energetic juniors Miles Brewer, Matt Rego and Trevor Pawliczka, the Seawolves spent the season working together to get better every day. The camaraderie exemplified by these young men and their willingness to listen and learn, bodes well for the future of the program. Newcomers such as Joseph Mahfood added a sense of urgency to our play, while freshman Tim Shea added a positive competitiveness to the mix. An exciting 2 1 victory over the Bulls of Holderness on a great late fall day was certainly a highlight of the season. Kudos also should go to goalkeepers Evan White and, co-captain elect for the 2007 campaign, Phil Greenwood, who were both strong and courageous making many acrobatic saves throughout the course of the fall.
With a strong nucleus returning and an enthusiastic group of young players having an undefeated season with Coach Sughrue on the JV squad, the positive building is expected to continue next fall.
