 What is the Annual Fund?
Tabor's Annual Fund directly supports faculty and students, ongoing technology and facilities needs as well as other school priorities represented in our budget. Annual Fund dollars provides 10% of the budget of Tabor Academy and all that represents:  salaries, program expense, equipment, facilities, etc.  Without the Annual Fund, there would be 10% less of everything!  Gifts may be unrestricted or designated to a particular area of the budget, or restricted to a donor specified expense.

Does tuition cover all cost of running the school?
No. Tuition revenue pays for only 68 percent of the actual cost of educating a student. Tabor requires other sources of revenue to cover the remaining 32 percent. The financial model that underpins the school's operation depends on three principal sources of revenue: endowment income, tuition revenue and the philanthropy of alumni, parents and friends via the Annual Fund. Your annual support is a vital component of that financial equation.

What is our goal for Fiscal Year 2008?
The overall Annual Fund goal is to raise $2.15 million by June 30, 2008.

How does the Annual Fund office conduct solicitations?
The Annual Fund team sends out several appeals each fiscal year. These appeals are followed by phone requests from volunteer callers. Consider making your gift or pledge early in the year to save the school postage and telephone costs. All gifts and pledges are due by June 30, the end of our fiscal year.

Will my gift make a difference?
Absolutely! Every tax-deductible gift makes a difference to the school. Your gift, large or small, sends a message that you believe in Tabor and your gift helps us balance the budget each year.

 Can I match my gift?
Many companies will match your contribution (or your spouse's) as part of their philanthropy toward concerns their employees support, thereby doubling your gift to Tabor. Check here to see if your company will match, and then with your human resource office for the correct form to send with your gift.

How do I make a gift?
You can send a check payable to Tabor Academy. We are also pleased to be able to offer secure on-line giving using a credit card (Visa, Mastercard or AMEX). Also, many more people are giving appreciated securities which is a very tax-wise way to make gifts. Send your gift to Tabor Academy Annual Fund, 66 Spring Street, Marion, MA 02738.

What if I need more information?
Contact Kate Howard Marvel '87, Director of Annual Fund. You can reach her at (508) 748- 2000 x 2362. She is happy to answer your questions in detail.

How does Reunion Giving affect the Annual Fund?
In a reunion year, alumni are asked to consider an increased gift to the Annual Fund in honor of their class's reunion. Some give a multiple of from two to five times the donor's typical Annual Fund gift. These gifts collectively have a large impact on the overall success of our Annual Fund.  All gifts are appreciated.

 How much should I give?
It is important to find an amount that you are comfortable giving annually.  Ideally you'll increase your support a little each year to help us reach our increasing goals.  Our budget usually increases by 4-5% each year, and it is nice to have our loyal supporters realize this so that their gifts keep pace with inflation, if possible.  Of course, the most important thing is to have your participation each year.  Whatever amount you can offer is always greatly appreciated.  The range of giving to the Annual Fund is $1-$300,000.  So really, whatever you can do will help!
