  1. It is imperative that you return to us your medical (sent to you from Health Center), liability, and swim test forms. If you have not yet done so, please send them in immediately so that we can make copies for on board. (The Health form will also be used for Winter School. Please follow instructions and return it to the Health Center.)
  2. It is very important to stay warm and dry. Bring a rain jacket. Ponchos are NOT appropriate for sailing. Don't forget warm clothing for cooler days and nights. Layers are more effective than heavy garments.
  3. Bring some spending money, approximately $50-$70. We make use of Acadia National Park, and students usually make a $10.00 donation towards its upkeep. Also, we spend time in Camden and Bar Harbor, where you might want to purchase a meal, light refreshments, or small gifts and souvenirs.
  4. We will be sailing mostly in sheltered waters, but if you know that you are particularly prone to seasickness, you may want to bring medication that works for you or that your doctor has prescribed. Avoid types that cause drowsiness.
  5. Please understand that ALCOHOL AND DRUGS ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Tabor Boy follows the U.S. Coast Guard Zero Tolerance Policy. Students who use or possess drugs or alcohol will be put ashore, and their acceptance to Tabor will be rescinded. Tobacco is also strictly prohibited, as well as knives, sharp objects, or any other form of weapon. Personal music and gaming devices, hair dryers or straighteners, and any other electrical appliances are also not allowed on board.
  6. Travel as lightly as possible. Storage space is limited. Bring what you need but NO MORE!!! Do not bring a suitcase. Pack your gear in one duffel bag (approx. 30"x12"x15") and avoid items that need to be hung up. You do not need life vests, as the vessel is Coast Guard certificated and equipped with proper safety gear. Food and all necessary sailing equipment will be provided by the school.
  7. Please do not wear ragged, old, or torn clothing. You are representing the vessel and the school.

Below is a clothing list:
