ADVICE FROM THE PROFESSIONALS

On Friday, January 5, 2001, Courtney Cote, Beth Grossart, Sarah Stoltenburg,  Billy Sabatini, and Blake Zahn returned to Tabor to share their knowledge and experiences concerning the senior projects they completed last year.  They spoke to a group of current seniors and offered the following advice among other things.

“Come up with a list of senior project ideas.  Don’t limit yourself to one.”
“Fit the project to your schedule (if you have a number of AP courses).  You can do a big project or a little project.” “Choose something practical, something that has meaning to you.”
“Ask yourself:  what interests you?  What do you want to know?”
“The responsibility (of doing a project) is awesome, but having control of your life is a great thing.”
“Find an advisor you can really talk to.”
“Think about what could go wrong before it does.”
“You may begin your project with an idea, but that idea may change.  You may have to cut back what you originally intended.  Understand that.”
“Follow your schedule.”
“Don’t procrastinate.”

The Senior Projects Committee very much thanks these alumni for their time and their valuable insights.
